   A thousand feet of cord arrived on a tube instead of a spool. (First photo is spool after I unraveled and rolled some cord back onto the spool and secured the end with masking tape. Second photo shows other rolls of cord that I made from massive tangle of a mess of cord … as can be seen in third photo). There were no ends on the tube and, as a result, the cord was spilling off the tube and created a horrible jumble. I was unable to find an end and, after many attempts to find one, finally ended up making a new cut. Then I spent SIX HOURS untangling this mess and making smaller rolls of cord. I was disgusted! I have ordered this cord before and have not had any problems, but this was a disaster. I should have packed it up and returned it!!! Our group makes small backpacks to give to needy children and we use the parachute cord to create the pull strings. I cannot imagine why this cord would have been sent on a spool without ends to hold it in place. DISGUSTED!!!!

   I bought this during my end of the world phase. Well, the end is always near but in the meantime I’ve found 10,000 other uses for paracord. For a complete list please see the internet. The roll had lasted a long time and it’s great stuff. There are all kinds of cord out there and each one claims to be the best. This one is just really really good. You won’t be let down. Unless that’s your use for it, then it will let you down well.

   This is not the strongest paracord but it fits my needs. I cut pieces as long as my windows are tall and hang them outside each window, spaced 3 inches apart to prevent bird strikes. All nylon shrinks a bit so I soaked the cut pieces in hot water before hanging.
   A lot of supposed paracord is not nylon, like this is, so beware. Only nylon resists sunlight (UV).

   I already have some 550 cord, but this was a buy I couldn’t turn down! 550 cord can be used for tent stakes, clothes line, holding a tarp down, tying your shoes, making a belt, or fashioning a trip line for a perimeter. This is the same cord I used in the Army, and I have 150′ in each grab bag. Great stuff! Other sites wanted $174 for similar stuff, but this is better quality for a better price! Would definitely buy again.

   I use this stuff for everything! Strong, lightweight, and inexpensive. I’ve had some outside holding up bird feeders in all kinds of weather for two years with no signs of breaking down or wear and tear. NOTE: Do NOT drop the spool! If the cardboard end pops off (like happened to me) you will have a giant tangled mess! Other than that problem that was my own fault, this stuff is perfect. The second roll I ordered appeared to be true “mil-spec”. I see no real difference in either roll other than a single different colored inner strand. Buy it, it works great for all kinds of projects, and a hank of it thrown in your “survival/preparedness” kit adds very little weight or bulk but does add peace of mind. UPDATE: July 6, 2016. Still going strong. I’ve had this product outside in all kinds of weather conditions (Maryland). Still pliable, still plugging along. Maybe just a little faded. Just superior performance. I’d expect a 1000 foot roll of this could last the average person a lifetime.

    There is not much to say about this. It is olive, it is drab, and it is green. And you get 1000 feet of it. It is good, quality stuff and I use it around the house in place of the cheap hardware store twine or nylon rope. The denier nylon coating reduced flex in the paracord and keeps it from fraying. Internally it has 7 strands of double twisted nylon. There is debate about it being mil-spec but I don’t think it will get in the way of whichever special ops you are planning. If you are in doubt of its strength in a particular use, double it up. I’d definitely use it if I was jumping out of a helo over the urban jungles of SW San Jose on a black ops mission to Facebook HQ and I had no other rope around. Among the many other uses, I’ve used it to tie up stakes, make a small ball to keep in my car for emergencies, make this review, and tie my TV down to keep it from falling off its stand.
