   Dieses Messer von einer selbst gemessenen Klingenlänge von 32 CM ab Parierstange angesetzt erfüllte alle meine Erwartungen. Nach der Ankunft musste ich es zwar mit Ballistöl polieren um den vom Transport verursachten leichten Verunreinigungen, auch bezogen auf die Lederscheide, welche ich empfehle bei Erhalt einmal mit der Luftpumpe auszureinigen, damit keine Feinpartikel mehr darin sind.

   Ich bin sehr zufrieden und mit diesem Messer fühlt man sich mehr als ausgestattet! Ich habe es bei Bekannten auch schon zur Wildschweinjagd mehr als befriedigend einsetzen sehen!

   Extremely large and appears well made. The grinds are even, the handles meet the guard appropriately, the finish is nice and even, the guard is tight with no play. The scabbard is well made albeit a little tight. I’m sure it will loosen up with use. All in all a great buy for right under $100. The only complaint I have is that it could be sharper, the last 3in. and the first 2in. aren’t very sharp. It is a great (huge) bowie that will make you feel like you’ve been taken back in time. It’s well enough executed that I’ll give it 5 stars even though it needs some sharpening.

   I didn’t know what to expect but at first glance This knife, is Not the first knife I would reach for to peel an apple. It is big, and feels more like a sword, no rattle, firm comfortable grip, and well balanced. It came Covered in grease that I would Not clean off. Just a light wipe to remove any clumps from the sheath as it’s there to protect the steel. My blade didn’t ’/ doesn’t need any reprofiling as it’s sharp like an ax or hatchet not a BIC disposable razor. The top of the Bowie blade is formed, but blunt and can be redressed to taste. The grip is square off, with smooth edges, but not fatiguing and is meant to keep the blade positioned for branches or a fight. The grip, well secured by screws is used to cover the unsharpened part of the blade. It’s just one big piece of steel. The sheath is adequate and didn’t need any leather dressing as there was enough grease covering the blade. The tip of the sheath is metal as the blade would do so serious damage in a fall or slide without it. This knife was a bargain at $110, and I would call it a Cold Steal.

   This is a great rendition of a WWI era Bowie combat knife. Love the features and the look. Used some WD40 to take off all the preservative grease and to clean the dye off of the handle – works great and there is not any need for acetone and the like. The scabbard/sheath is excellent, built like the old times when people actually had to carry knives everyday. I would buy this knife a thousand times over and at the price of Benjamin it is the lowest I have ever seen it. Buy it if you find it interesting, you won’t be disappointed. There are a lot of hand made touches to it, slight blemishes and all, that make it a beautiful piece for display or serious use in combat or the bush.

   I’m impressed at the build quality of this Bowie Knife! I bought it to have protection in my semi since I live in it! This will definitely do the trick! Very well balanced! Amazing blueing in it. Blade is very sharp all the way from the tip to the other end! Worth the $100 I paid for sure!

   This is a massive Bowie blade.
   The steel is blued, almost black. The workmanship is excellent as to be expected from Cold Steel.

   I was looking for something paying tribute to the legend of Jim Bowie, and I do believe I’ve found it. This blade is a classic! Made in India, it comes with a British Proof Test certificate (for swords). This is a cross between a sword and machete really. It has impeccable quality. Perfectly blued, an even grind, and a typical sword quality sharpness. This is one very heavy blade. It certainly can be used for hacking brush or even cleaving meat. As a weapon for self defense, it’s by far the scariest blade I’ve seen. The sheath is well suited for the blade and pays homage to the era quite well I find (I’ve attached a picture). It looks indeed
   to be all genuine leather and has a belt loop than can be detached from the scabbard. It does come shipped in grease. This is 1055 carbon steel commonly used for swords. It is susceptible to corrosion, so keep it dry. For the price you get a truly great product in my opinion. It’s going to look beautiful on my wall!

   Dies war das erste Messer, das ich bislang gekauft habe – es ist als Geschenk gedacht. Günstig und trotzdem sehr edel, die Klinge hinterlässt eindruck, vor allem der Griff ist sehr schön verarbeitet (Die Werte, Länge der Klinge, Gewicht etc. sind alle korrekt).

   Negativ ist, dass sowohl am Handschutz sowie an der Oberseite der Klinge Gebrauchsspuren sprich Kratzer direkt nach dem Auspacken zu erkennen waren.

   Nicht negativ aber anzumerken: Die Klinge ist stumpf, wer mit dem Bowie vorhat, etwas zu schneiden, sollte gleich noch einen schleifstein dazu bestellen. Zum Zerhacken von Fleisch und Seilen, wie in ColdSteel Werbevideos genügt es nicht, Selbst mit Kraft kann man sich nicht an ihr schneiden, zum Abhacken der Finger wirds wohl trotzdem reichen.

    I wouldn’t use this monster as a tool mainly since it’s to heavy. it’s a fun knife though, it’s not a super sharp grind, but it doesn’t need it, since it’s so dang heavy.
    It’s craftsmanship is very good. the wooden handles are snugly fitted on, with no gap. the ballance is right at the hand gaurd on mine. it’s easy to move around at the wrist since it’s balance is perfect.

    unless you are strong, and can use heavy tools this won’t be functional for you.
    I love this knife though. but it’s mainly a show piece
