It’s a Christmas gift for my Grandson. If there is a problem after he uses it, I’ll do another review. So far, it looks great. Quality looks great. Sharp as a razor. Certainly not a kids toy. Impressive so far.

The blade itself is ok. Seems well balanced. Ok sharpness Time will tell if it’s durable. The sheath is terrible. I would pay more for a wood or kydex sheath. Unusable and considering returning this.

Don’t expect too much for the price, but for what it is, seems ok. Feels like a typical machete steel, not a great edge holder but relatively easy to sharpen.
Pros, it’s reasonably well balanced and handles well. Handle it a good size and fits my hands well.
Cons, it had a slight edge roll from the factory grinding that I had to get rid of. Some paint finish discoloration on one side of the blade, not a huge deal for me as I don’t expect the finish to hold up to actual repeated use anyway, so I may do as another here did and take the finish off.
So overall, it’s fine for what it is. Given the thinness of the blade and that it has a bit of flex, be careful with edge alignment to avoid warping or breakage imo.

Awesome product exactly as described
Comes sharp enough to cut trees of about 3 inches of diameter and can be sharpened even more
Don’t forget to take good care of it as it is not stainless steel and will rust fairly easily

This sword is really nice. The handle allows for full maneuverability of the sword. Quality is excellent all around. Mine says it is made in South Africa ✅. The weight distribution feels right it is not forward heavy but at the same time gives you that feel you can strike with force. If you are looking for a sword or knife that is well made consider Cold Steel. I have collected many of their products throughout the years. They have been one of the best brands out there. I have yet to find one of their products made in China they are usually made everywhere else .

Impressed by the size and build of this machete for the price. Easy to wield with two hands for extra accuracy in cutting, and sharp enough out of the box to slice through water bottles with ease. Super fun.

Overall, a handy tool. Feels good in the hand, cuts well, and it has stood up to the abuse of being one of my tools for four years and change.
I’ll say that the handguard – tsuba – was a little hard on the hand for actual use as a machete, cutting brush and thicker logs in particular, but I reduced its profile with an angle grinder and now it’s perfect.
Further, I just recently decided to cut it down to more tanto- to wakizashi-size, and fashioned a simple sheath of one side leather, one side stainless, for easier carry, and it has changed my daily life living on a heavily forested property. I have been considering getting another to give it a twin as a backup, but I’m fairly confident this thing will never break given that it has survived with me this long. I may just do it anyway – I’ve had three different styles including the katana, and these Cold Steel machetes have all been great.

I got this katana to remove fear for solo camping. Now I know there is no beast in the forest that could take my life with this katana machete on my side. It comes really sharp out of the box but you can sharpen it even more. Cuts through thick bamboo easy. I cut down a fairly thick pine tree with it in about 4 good wacks. Worked better than the little axe I usually bring with me. It’s my best blade by far. I was cutting a trail through thick bush and nicked a rock which blunted the tip. It really brought down my camping moral, but 30 seconds with a palm sander and it’s like new again. This is my favorite thing that I own other than my motorcycle. I hope cold steel is always around so I can be supplied with this blade for my whole life.

Great for hacking brush and can take a beating. Quite heavy to wield. Definitely more machete than katana, but functional nonetheless!

This thing is fun! It was so cheap that I just had to order. Came sharp out of the box and it was very easy to sharpen. Haven’t used it yet, but the first impression is that it’s just a fun machete. The hilt isn’t so bad, but come on, it’s a machete and it’s not supposed to be a high-end katana. I would rather it be made of polymer so that I don’t have to worry about it being stained or ruined by the elements outdoors where it will be used. Perfect length for me, I’m 5’8″ and it swings well. The balance is a little off, but again, look at the price. Just so much fun to have.
