   Update (9/13/22): The Blade angle is really bad, terrible at slicing, & really difficult to sharpen. Wish the product description would’ve told me the blade angle, I want my money back. Read this before buying! (The Blade/Lock) – The Blade is very thick and stout, looks great too. It’s made from high end steel. The Locking mechanism is very strong, you’re not going to break it. The blade’s steep cutting edge angle and Blade thickness is not very good for slicing though, keep that in mind. I’m personally thinking about changing mine, so it’s a little better at slicing. The knife favors strength over slicabilty, this is not for cleaning fish. (The weight/Size) – It is a little hefty for sporty shorts but perfectly fine in pants, it’s really not that big, I thought it was going to be a little bit wider than it actually was, it carries it’s own weight very well. (CRAFTSMANSHIP FLAW) – On my knife and other’s I’ve seen; on one side of the Locking bar’s edge, along the spine, is ground a little too much. (Pictures included)

   I have both versions (tanto style, and SRK style blades) of the SR1. I recently jumped on the SR1 (SRK) because there had been a significant price drop on the knife. I love the tanto style, but I’ve also loved my fixed blade SRKs so I thought it would be nice to have the SRK variant. These knives are built to do all the work. They are tougher than any other folder I have, and while heavier than your average folder, don’t feel so heavy as to make it a deal breaker for EDC. I think if I was dropped in the middle of nowhere and could only have one folding knife, I’d probably take the SR1 Tanto. It has more thick spine for batoning. For everyday, non-bushcraft carry, I think I will be taking the SR1 SRK variant from now on. Its blade design makes a little more sense for the everyday tasks a knife has to do. User Note: The texturing on the scales is, as the kids say, aggressive AF. It smooths down a bit after awhile, with out losing the necessary friction. But I have heard some complaints about how rough it feels from some. My tanto SR1 is now not so rough as to tear up my pockets. But out of the box, best not to use th pocket clip on pants you like. Also, I do think the pocket clip tension is a bit too intense for a lot of people. But do keep in mind these are pricey knives designed to work in any environment. The clip is designed so your expensive knife (these retail at Cold Steel for like 250) will never every slip out of your pocket. Great knives, if you have been thinking about getting one, just do it. You won’t regret it.

   I’m a casual folder collector, so this is the first knife I’ve bought for over $100. This is a terrific deal — the list price that’s shown is indeed what it would cost at Cold Steel’s website. It was shaving-sharp right out of the box. There’s no play in the joint that I can detect. The scales have a coarse texture that makes the handle very slip-resistant. The 4.8-mm thick blade is not for everybody, but I can see using it in situations where a bit of prying is necessary. My hands are not very big, so I’ll use both hands to open it, to avoid accidents. People with weaker hands might not like the lock, but it works for me. This is far and away the best knife I own now. It is amazingly solid — as my mom would have said, “built like a brick s–thouse”!

   Gran navaja utilitaria, se siente como si pudieras hacer lo que sea que haces con un cuchillo de hoja fija sin problema, particularmente cuento con la SR1 LITE, y aunque es una muy buena navaja, esta versión se siente más fuerte, pesada y firme, es de verdad una todo terreno para lo que sea que quieras hacer, camping, táctica, supervivencia, combate o simplemente EDCK, excelente producto CS

   This is my favorite knife to date. Considering the massive thickness of the blade, the handle is relatively trim, yet easy to grip and control.
   This is not a subtle knife to carry but that’s not what I wanted. I can tell it’s in my pocket without checking.
