   I bought this to replace my other every-day-carry knife that had a pretty mediocre framelock system. I’ve owned one other CRKT product in the past and loved it. I was almost devastated when I lost it. This knife was what I was looking for: framelock, quick open and semi-serrated. I’ve had it for 2 months so far and the blade does seem to be holding its edge well. The Auto Lawks is great for an added layer of safety, but it is frustrating to not be able to close the knife with just one hand. The reasons for not giving 5 stars are minor ones. While I assume they’re there for weight-saving, the circles in the handle do get a fair amount of debris in them when carried in a pocket (pocket knife, right?). The other thing is that I used the knife to cut a lime and didn’t wash it very well. It now has a small amount of what looks like surface rust. I have included a photo. I would still recommend this knife for the money and don’t intend to replace it until I have to.

   This will be my third CRKT M16 ZLEK knife. My two others are the Columbia River Knife and Tool’s M16-12ZLEK Nylon Law Enforcement Tanto Triple-Point Serration Knife. This knife has grown on me, so I will be less critical this time. This is a fairly inexpensive, reliable pocket knife. The basic design is similar to the 12ZLEK, although the blade shape and overall dimensions are different. I’ve attached photos comparing the 12ZLEK and 13ZLEK. Something I noticed about both of these models is that the seat belt cutter tends to get caught on the edge of the pant pocket. I haven’t torn through a pant pocket yet, but I can see that happening pretty easily. In this CRKT series, I have only owned the 12ZLEK and the 13ZLEK.    I’ve carried this knife for several years and it’s yet to fail me. I’ve seen reviews on here complaining about the edge or the secondary lock. It’s easy enough to put a better edge on the knife on your own. Not a big deal. If they/ you want a RAZOR SHARP knife out the box then spend the money and purchase a Benchmade or Spyderco. As for the secondary lock as you can see in my first picture you are able to remove it. Although I HIGHLY encourage you keep the lock there is a way to remove it. This secondary lock makes it almost impossible for the knife to close on you accidentally or due to the liner lock failing. Over all this knife has performed well. Belt cutter works amazing and you are able to resharpen it. Glass breaker also works great as I speak from experience. As for the missing pocket clip screw; that was my own doing from taking the knife apart and losing it. They come factory with thread locker. The only thing I wish this knife had was a 4 way position pocket clip. It’s only two for tip down carry only.
