The controls are intuitive, easy, effective and I can put it in my pocket without lighting my pants on fire when I sit down. It’s bright enough/hot enough to light matches still and it’s that isn’t a fun dumb party trick, I dunno what is. It stays cool enough to handle on turbo for about 5-7 minutes, but if you want to run it on bright comfortably the tactical mode at 2000 lumens is better.

I had hesitated to purchase an expensive flashlight because I had lots of small cheap ones that I thought got the job done. And if I lost or damaged the cheap light….. so what. However, after purchasing this Fenix TAC model flashlight, I have changed my mind. The brightness levels are so much better than my cheapo lights. There is just no comparison. For home security, these types of flashlights are the best.
I also really like the USB-C charging capability.

Has a lock setting which prevents accidental tail switch activation when in pocket or bag.
Gets hot fast on the bulb side because the light is so bright. Various power modes are useful as well (dimmer for reading up close and bright for distant objects)

This light last me three months on the first charge!
I need all the different settings on this light at work.
You don’t want to keep it on the highest setting, it gets really 🔥 but when you need to it lights up the world.
I use mostly the lower to mid settings for what I do.
Really tuff and useful.

At first I hated this flashlight, but I quickly realized that I hated it because I was so used to the old functionality. This new system is so much more user friendly. I have a TK16 as a secondary backup that keep in my jacket pocket. Sometimes it’s easier to pull this than the PD36 TAC on my belt, however once I have the TK16 in hand, it’s much more difficult to operate. The momentary switch on the PD36 is so easy to depress and finding the right intensity is much easier as well, because the toggle button on the TK16 takes time to find with my thumb and sometimes difficult to press. My mistake with the PD36 was expecting it to operate like my TK16. I should have kept an open mind, because now I wish my TK16 would operate like my PD16. I’m going to use my TK16 as a weapon light and purchase another PD16 as a backup to my EDC PD16…so, two PD16 flashlights.

Light was dropped and lense cracked, contacted fenix and they wouldn’t do anything other than sell me another. Ridiculous that a 2 ft drop breaks a “tactical” flashlight. And their warranty is useless. Surefire would cover it, o light would cover it. Not Fenix

I really like this flashlight. I have purchased 3 and will probably purchase a few more as gifts. The beam is super bright on maximum and the brightness level is easily adjustable plus it has a strobe option. For me it is a perfect size and weight for everyday carry. I like that it can be locked so it does not turn on accidentally. The USB charger allows you to charge it from a wall outlet, a battery pack or in the car. The two minor issues I have are 1) you have to disassemble the unit to charge the battery and 2) of greater concern is when used at maximum lumens the flashlight gets really hot (I know – not unexpected) but one still needs to use caution and this is especially important if kids have access to it. I wish extra batteries were available so you could use one while the other is charging. Overall I highly recommend this flashlight.

Super bright flashlight but also has different brightness options. You can’t go wrong with a Fenix flashlight they are always great quality and this one didn’t disappoint. My husband loved it. I purchased this as a gift for him.
