   I bought this for my daughter who is a trucker. She’s able to carry it like a flashlight but when you push the stun button it is very bright and very loud. I would expect this to scare some people away. The casing is very sturdy and the end is thick so you can use it as a baton as well. I’m impressed with the workmanship. I’m buying one for myself and my sister as well.

   It worked great for the first few uses. Now it won’t hold a charge and even when charged it will automatically turn off. Not a great problem to have when trying to stay safe.

   The MEGASTUN “Super Lightning” stun gun & flashlight impressively exudes quality. I greatly appreciate that it has LED power metering. This allows one to know the present strength of charge. Without that, deciding when to charge the battery would be guesswork. Every stun gun on the planet should have power metering. But I couldn’t find another one that does. When the rechargeable battery in the MEGASTUN eventually exhausts its useful life as all batteries do, it is a simple task to unscrew the end cap and replace the old battery with a new rechargeable battery. I looked-up the specified battery required and easily found it on githubja.com. It’s wonderful that the battery can be replaced because this is one stun gun you won’t want to throw away. Too much quality went into it. The feel of this stun gun is quite robust. It is crafted from aircraft grade metal. Attention to detail abounds. No exaggeration. The look of it is extraordinary. The placement of all LED indicators is perfect and the location of the three buttons allows me to use it intuitively and easily. However, the printed instructions were difficult for me to read without a magnifying glass (which I couldn’t find). So I telephoned them with a couple questions. Very helpful. I was told to unscrew the end cap and remove a thin circle of clear plastic that is immediately observable upon removing the cap. I suppose it is there to separate the battery from the end cap during storage and shipping. I gave mine a complete charge before using it as I do with all things I buy that are rechargeable. But you decide that for yourself. I don’t work for MEGASTUN and can’t speak for them. I am merely an enthusiastic buyer. I wanted a great stun gun and I am a collector of high-end flashlights. So I am delighted.

   This is my second one, and I will be returning this one as well. The megastun quits working in the cold weather and I’m severely dissipointed with this product. It has a good build and feels heavy/ comes with a bar code (usually a sign of crafrsmenship) but that’s all for show. If you live in any cold weather climate (I live in Salt lake city) do not purchase this item.

   The box says made in China but the company responded to others not so. I don’t choose to buy from China. Getting to the product. It is heavy nice weight. Flashlight is excellent. I shined it in a car who was not stopping as I walked my dog crossing a store driveway. That stopped them! I haven’t used the stun. The holster is a joke. It’s too short for the flashlight light. I keep it in my pocket mostly. Or hold it at night walking my dog. The strobe is nice to leave on walking. I like the product so far. I plan to try the stun not sure best way to test not on a living being. Cheers,

   My dog and I have been attacked more than once while out in the neighborhood. Twice I have diffused the situation by discharging the stun cane I carry into the air. It gets the dogs attention and both times the dog has backed off. I wanted something smaller to carry on hikes so I picked up the Megastun flashlight. Yes, it costs 3-4 times as much as other products on githubja.com, but that’s what I want. I’m not trusting my dog’s life to a $25 product. Volts are for suckers. What matters is build quality and I’m willing to pay for that. It has a battery meter which is awesome. It’s solidly built and has a nasty sound when discharged into the air which might actually be the most important feature when it comes to dogs. I had a few questions and the owner returned my call right away and walked me through everything. It’s hard to know who to trust but I’ll go with the company that doesn’t sell false claims about volts and doubles down on quality.
