   I like the size of the product. It fits my hand perfectly. It’s not that big, I can strap it on my belt or along with my key chain. It’s easy to grasp and not too big, so it’s concealable in some instances. I’m not sure about the quality, as I have not used it yet. The instructions on how to set it up is straightforward. I downloaded their free app and was able to connect it to my phone right away. If you don’t purchase the premium, you are allowed to add two emergency contacts.

   It’s great and love the features however I wish the magnetic holder was retractable instead because it keeps falling!!! I know it’s made that way for easy detachment when in use but a retractable one would work just fine I changed it and it’s so much better!!!

   This thing is fantastic – it has a siren that is louder than the alarm in my house, the strobe lights are blinding, and it’s easy to grip, point, and shoot. But the best feature is the app that calls and texts your emergency contacts if the unit is fired – it sends a message of distress and a map of your location. I got both my wife and daughter one of these. I feel a lot better now that they have it.

   I want to share my experience with this product. The package arrived earlier than stated and the product looked just as the description. On the back of the box you can see a short instruction on how to connect the pepper spray with the app, but NO manual with additional info. In order for the pepper spray to work correctly and send the text messages to your emergency contact list, the bluetooth and data needs to be ON at ALL times. Also that app MUST be open at all times even if it is on the background of your phone, but it has to be open, otherwise the texts won’t send. I attached a picture of what your screen should look like in the app once you have linked your spray. When I tested it for the first time the alarm and the light worked (the alarm is super loud!) but my emergency contact list never received the text messages, this was because I didn’t have the correct settings on the app and the app was not opened while I tested it. Another important thing to mention is that you are supposed to only press the test button you are NOT supposed to spray it in order for you to test the product, this is because the canister is not replaceable and you need to have a full canister in case of an emergency, at first I didn’t know this, so I tried the spray for one second. When I tried it I saw that the reached distance of the pepper spray is just as described and it also has a pigment, neon pink, that is very strong and will mark whoever you spray it to. Note that in that one second the alarm and light didn’t work. After contacting Pelgium they explained about the settings in the app and the canister. After correcting the settings I tested it again and it sends texts with my location to my chosen contacts immediately! Pelgium also advised that if ever needs to be used you do need to press the spray button HARD in order for that to activate or trigger the test button which will in turn activate the sound alarm and light. They sent me a replacement free of charge, they were patient and kind. Well there you have it, maybe this information can help you decide if this is the product is for you, in my opinion other pepper sprays are 17usd, for only 50usd you have all those extra 5 amazing features that will make a huge difference in case of an emergency, this product is above all of their competitors, is totally worth it, 100% recommended!

   Bought 2 for my college kids- one worked as expected on set up. Device detected without having to need to type 4 digit code. Tested unit- alarm sounded, lights flashed, text and phone call sent to emergency contact.

   2nd device was not detected and the code did not work. Would not pair. Tested unit- no sound, no lights, since it did not pair- it did not send messages/call.

   Got on githubja.com – said not returnable. Asked if I wanted to contact company. Clicked it and got sent to Plegium customer support. Filed the request. About a couple weeks have gone by…nothing.

   Just sat down to take a video of this and. Tested both units. Now the one that worked…NO LONGER WORKS! It’s been 2 weeks. I am not confident now that it will work as a simple spray now. Tempted to test one outside to see if it will even fire. Waste of money, can’t return due to shipping pepper spray, no customer service. If I could give this a zero, I would.

   In regard to the actual spray, it will reach out the full 10 feet as advertised. You can see me test the spray in the video. There is a raised line down the middle of the trigger. This gives some ability to get it ready to use without looking at the spray.

   The best feature of this spray is the siren. It sounds like bloody murder. You can hear the siren by playing the video. The siren will be a huge surprise to Thugalicious and it will alert anyone nearby to something bad happening.

   This spray will also send a location text message and automated call when the trigger is pressed. I am skeptical of the practically of this for most users. I see it as only useful if the persons getting these alerts might be close by. An on-campus college student could put the phone numbers of campus police in the plegium app. Campus police would likely be close enough to make a difference.

   I was not able to test the location text message and automated call feature. A pin is needed to pair the spray with the plegium phone app. The stickers with this are under the safety and behind the battery lid. The pins were faded on both stickers on my spray. I contact customer service about this. At the time pepper sprays were selling as fast as helicopter tickets out of Saigon. Carl at Plegium offered me a free replacement but I would have to wait. I opted to receive a smart mini spray instead of waiting. Plegium knows about this pin on the stickers problem and I am sure it has been resolved. If you have this problem, Plegium will take care of it.
