I have two of the packs, one black and a couple years older and this one. This one didn’t have as nice straps as my older model, the waist belt comes loose from the buckle every now and then and the straps on the under side of the bag didn’t come with Velcro to keep the excess strap rolled up and secure. That being said, still very durable and one of my fav tacticle packs I own.

I mainly use this backpack for carrying my gear to work, or for weekend getaways. It easily holds my 17″ laptop, plus: cords, portable speakers, etc. Of course, calendars, planners and files fit in easily as well.
It expands to hold larger tactical gear too, but it still is not a large pack. I would not use this pack for a long backpacking expedition. For a day hike, it’s perfect.
I love the digital woodland camo. It looks fantastic. The material is the typical type for modern tactical backpacks. It feels heavy-duty enough to get the job done. The dual zippers on all of the pouches are nice. It also has a waste strap, but it’s not padded. The back of the pack where it meets your back is nicely padded.
Compared to my larger, Fieldline backpack, this one feels like it distributes the weight better. When I carry a lot of heavy gear with the Fieldline, I definitely feel it all there on my back. The Red Rock pack feels lighter on my back. I’ve had to double check to see if I forgot my laptop or something. That was a nice surprise.

I purchased this backpack to carry camera equipment and other essentials when I go hiking, snowshoeing and motorcycling. It is well made and very roomy although a bit heavier than I had hoped. It’s quite comfortable to wear and the adjustments provide a good range (I have really wide shoulders and am heavy set). I would certainly recommend, especially considering the price.

Great to have such a well organized watercolor art supplies, finally. It is a great pack! Now I used to work at REI and have many of their packs and an Osprey, Kelty external frame packs. Oh, and a Lowe and a couple of others for which I can’t remember the brands. My all time favorite is the REI Talus 35. I also have a 60. Wonderful fit.
So anyway, I was really impressed with this pack, especially at the price point. Zippers seem very robust, it is well finished and since I really don’t need a stout hip belt, this one works very well. Great adjustments all around. You know I might just buy another for my oil supplies. If you have any questions, just ask. Jim
