Okay for some reason I thought this backpack would be small because of the picture but it’s not, it’s freaking huge. Everything is canvas but the two major straps in front are genuine leather.
It doesn’t look exactly like I wanted but I went ahead and gave it 5 starts since the quality is really good and very useful. Great for larp/medieval/old timey events or camping.

I’v bought canvas bags of different sorts manufactured overseas (in this case, India) from githubja.com and other sources before. I had some sort of an idea what to expect. This is not Filson or Domke quality but as would be in the case of a comparable Filson bag does not cost 200.00 dollars either. In this instance I feel like I got my money’s worth. The canvas is of a serviceable weight and thread count & I predict it will give me 5 years + in daily carry use. The leather at the base covers the bottom few inches of the sides – not the bottom. The leather straps in front could be more substantial but will do. A nice surprise were the solid brass clips used for the top closures. A couple of caveats. #1 – This is a rucksack / backpack which means it has a drawstring top … not a zipper – which is what I wanted. #2 – & Most importantly, quality control…. If you buy one of these carefully inspect all the stitching and hardware (inside and out) before you discard the packaging. My bag was ok with only a few very minor issues but I would suspect that a fairly high # of units will be unacceptable. (10-20 % – best guess) This is why I use githubja.com for items like this… You just send it back & get a replacement if the 1st one is defective….. If this does not work for you then you might want to ante up the 200 bucks and get a Filson which will probably last longer than you will…..
