   The build quality feels strong. The white mode can get super bright. I bought it to keep as a backup during flying as you need a red-light to help with navigational charts and cockpit illumination. But I do take this whenever I’m out camping as well since it’s compact and works great

There was a cheap Chinese 8$ red light on githubja.com that broke on day two. This light was bought as a replacement and it’s strong. No breakage. Spending more is worth it sometimes yea.

    Overall it’s OK. Bought it to throw in the flight bag. White light is fairly bright on the high setting but it has a pretty defined hot spot and not much spill. That’s fine for use in the cockpit but for walkarounds I prefer to have a less focused beam. My real gripe is with the red light though. The emitter is offset inside the cone so there is a dark spot in the middle of the beam pattern and serious asymmetric throw. Will still work but makes it awkward and annoying to use. I’ll attach some pictures to show what I’m talking about. I would like it to have a pocket clip also, not that big of a deal though. The construction does seem solid and overall seems like it is well made. I wanted something other than a cheap-o to rely on while flying in the dark. Pros: Construction seems solid and overall quality made Compact and lightweight Cons: White light has strong hotspot and not much spill Red light has a dark center and awkward/offset spill I bought it when the price dropped from $57 to $37. Would probably be dissapointed and return if I had paid the higher price. As it is, will likely keep it and use it as a backup.

    Great while it lasted. Barely used, but was happy with it while it worked. The problem is that after very limited use, at first the light would come on by itself, and then the button for the white light broke all together. Now it’s a paperweight.
