So this is a really nice knife. It is sharp and the action is smooth. Feels great in the hand. The only downside for me is the cost. For me, I hate to use something so expensive for some normal edc hacking and cutting. So, I am not sure of how much of a beating it can take. This is not my carry to work knife. It is my weekend carry knife.

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: I’ve emailed multiple times the people I was in contact with about this mess, now they are completely ignoring me. Spyderco, crkt, Ontario Knife, those will be my blade sources from now on…
UPDATE: Reached out to SOG, or GSM Outdoors officially. Got in touch with someone, they asked for photos and proof of purchase, which I provided. I sent the knife in, and 2 weeks later they shipped me a new knife. It is not the same. It is lighter, cheaper, and rattles in my pocket. After all this, I will not likely buy another SOG product from anywhere.
Had a SOG Pentagon Elite II for YEARS with zero issue…had this knife for 10 months, dropped it yesterday and the tab that sticks out the spine of the knife for forefinger opening snapped off. The exposed metal looks like some kind of cheap pewter or pot metal garbage. Gonna reach out to SOG and see if they’ll do anything about it.

Very solid for a lightweight folder. I use mine everyday for opening boxes and general knife things. It’s definitely solid enough for self defense though. It holds it’s edge great and the black finish hasn’t polished at all in the few months of daily use I’ve put it through. It is an easy ambidextrous opener too.

This is a good knife not a great knife. It’s very thin so I would not call it a heavy use knife. Ok for a light EDC knife, however for self defense I prefer a thicker sturdier blade. I’d say this is a $60 knife definitely not a $130 knife
