   I followed the instructions and tested the electric arcing of the device. Easy to use, and safe. I will be using it on my dogs if the need arises.
   I have 4 dogs who enjoy a wonderful and safe existence with me. Maybe one time per year they transition from ordinary rough house play, to biting each other, and me in the middle-a bloody and dangerous mess. Nothing I do safely disengages them.
   Now I have this device, which gives me a great sense of security. I hope I never need to use it!

   This product is a great idea with poor execution. Someone needs to step up and build a better version. The Ergonomics: the little tiny switches are very hard to find and use in the dark and don’t even think about wearing gloves and being able to tell where the switches are in a panic. The switch for the flashlight is very soft and you can’t really feel the clicks very well. The switch for the flashlight stopped working after two weeks so now the flashlight doesn’t work anymore. The switches should be placed at the bottom of the handle, not the middle of the unit, effectively, reducing the striking length by 6 inches. In order to activate the electricity, your hand is basically halfway up the length of the stick, so what’s the point of the stick being so long in the first place? Build quality: this device is made of some kind of plastic and you definitely can’t hit something with it like it appears. The thing looks like a club, but you cannot use it as a club. It actually seems very fragile like it will break if you drop it too many times. I think the build quality is very poor on this for a supposed self-defense tool. Electronics: the battery is an old-school kind of rechargeable battery and not lithium. I think it’s NiMh. It doesn’t have any way to tell you when it’s fully charged and it loses its charge over time according to the manual. The charger is a very simple wall plug that doesn’t seem to shut off when it’s full, so what happens if you over charge it? Does it burst into flames? The switches are super cheap quality and the flashlight has already failed after the first two weeks and no longer works. The shock function only works sometimes. Sometimes it just makes a hissing sound and no electricity comes out. Sometimes it works fully. Overall, this is a disappointing self-defense tool. The quality is very poor and it stopped really functioning after two weeks. My useage is very light because I just carry it when I walk my dog to prevent from stray dog attacks. I carry it in my hand, and hardly ever turn it on, and it still doesn’t even work. I would gladly pay more for a better designed unit made of metal. I gave it 2-stars because at least it functioned when I bought it. Now I want to return it and my return window is closed by two weeks so I guess I’m stuck with this broken thing.

You’re welcome. These stun batons (“stun guns”) hurt nicely. However I’d recommend pepper spray to keep the distance in a real self defense situation. Noteworthy: This one brought me to my knees. It’s excellent for when an opponent is trying to grab it from you. However it’s also made of plastic and I really don’t think it will withstand any tremendous blunt force trauma (as you can see in other feedback). If this was made from hardened polymer or some other type of tough plastic material, I’d love it. Hope this helps!

   The electric stun part has stopped working after 2 months. I used it and charged it as recommended. Also the flashlight part is now not working either. Waste if money.

   This was perfect for what I needed to deter unleashed dogs. Have never had to do anything but push the button and the zap sound stops them in their tracks. I also use it at night when I take my little dog out when camping or even in the back yard to deter coyotes. BUT the flashlight stopped working and it appears there is no way to replace the bulb so there you have it. I need the light. Wish I could fix it.

    The product has stopped working and will not recharge only the flashlight works. This is very disappointing because this was protection for me when I take walks with my small dog, it does not help us at all against the large dogs are predators, perverts and other criminal activity that’s going on around in my neighborhood so I don’t recommend this product for anyone because it is not worth the money that I spent on it for my own protection. I wish there was a way that someone could get in touch with me and offer me a refund or a different product because this one is not worth it.
