   Look no further than the SureFire Scout M Pro series. It may seem a little spendy, but the offset hinge mount in picatinny rail and M-Lok included will save you at least $50 in Arisaka mounting hardware. Perfect fit for the IWI Galil ACE (pictured). Light thrown is warm white in the center core and cool white at the edges. Optional picatinny tape switch and cap are available, which in a longer application would be recommended but for a backpack size application isn’t necessary.

   We all know these things are pricey. First time you hit the button you can ‘see’ the price difference right before your very eyes. End of story. I chose this particular model because you only use one battery at a time. Going through batteries at double the rate is something to think about.

   One picture (should be first) is the real deal. (Should be) Second picture is a counterfeit. Surefire is amazing quality and will take a beating; however, make sure it’s the real deal. Check for branding on the light, check for battery or batteries, tools, stickers, etc.. Don’t just trust the box/packaging in came in.

   My particular one was sold and shipped through githubja.com and sadly they didn’t catch it (didn’t have a reason to look?), but thankfully the replacement order was the real deal.

   Just verify! If you are giving it as a gift, open it once you get it than wait till you miss the return deadline!

   This light filled a set of requirements I wasn’t sure I would be able to fulfill. I needed a light that took up very little rail space, could be adjusted to the nonstandard angle of the rail area above it, have a simple momentary-on or full-on tailcap, and put out a large amount of light at short throw for home defense. The M340C hit it out of the ballpark on all points. It was also great to see githubja.com offer it at a competitive price.

   Lights up the room enough that it doesn’t burn out your own night vision, while still being powerful enough to use at distance outside. Its lightweight, which mattered the most too me, especially when I have female family members that might need to use my rifle for defense.

   It’s strong, reliable, and perfect with the pressure pad. The M-Lok mount it came with fits it to the gun perfectly.

   Light mount is terrible. Constantly moves as you move your rifle. There is a really long delay from when you press the end cap until the light turns on. Save yourself a headache and go Streamlight.

   The light is extremely bright and easy to mount. I used the M-lok keys and it worked great! I haven’t put it though it’s paces yet but it seems durable as well with gaskets to seal out dust and water.
