   This light is very bright and is nice and sleek. The lasers from Votatu usually hold zero but I will update if it does not when I get to shoot with it. The only problem is the pressure switch. It has 2 buttons on it but only one actually turns it on. The other button does nothing when it should change the modes between light and laser. You have to reach around the gun every time you want to change modes which can be very inconvenient. The other thing about the pressure switch is you have to press exactly in the middle for it to turn on. Its not terrible but also a flaw. The pressure switch loses a star for this product. Everything else seems to be built great and I love the long charging cable.

   Overall quality of the product is excellent. Performance so far has been good. The switch does require a bit of force for decompression to operate so it is not quickly turned on. Once you get your placement down it won’t take long to recognize the amount of pressure needed to turn on the unit. I gave this a four-star rating for two reasons. First this is a bulky unit it’s long and it’s heavy. I am using this on a non-duty weapon so this is of little issue but this could be a functional issue if you were using this on a service weapon. Second the pressure switch mounting is a very rigid plastic and once it’s mounted it will stay there but getting it mounted is a bit more time consuming. Again on a service or hunting weapon this may be something that you want to be easier to do in a stressful setting. For target practice and home defense it is an excellent choice.

   I had to return mine for it didn’t fit the build like I thought it would. But I ordered another light they make to replace it. Was real impressed by the quality. The laser was almost zeroed in out the box. I was real surprised. The one I ordered in replacement all is one unit so it should fit by pistol build better than this. Just didn’t have the space.

   I’ve got hundreds of the rounds through this light on a 10.5″ 5.56.
   I love it, works great, no issues. I play with it all the time at home. I have it mounted 6:00 position with the pressure plate up top. Still enough room for a red dot and backup sights with no issue and a Sentry strap.

   Initially, I had reservations about ordering this product from Votatu due to no previous experience with this brand. However, at its current price of around $56, I couldn’t resist trying it out and, in this review, I’ll be comparing it to Streamlight’s TLR-1 HL, which is my preferred flashlight for all my guns. Upon receiving the Votatu, I was impressed by the build quality. The aluminum housing feels sturdy and durable, and the weight of 153 grams is just right. The finish is also satisfactory. The flashlight has a mil-spec non-reflective type III hard anodized surface. It is also 1m drop resistant and IPX6 waterproof, but I personally have not tested it yet. The mounting process is simple and easy, but a hex key is required, which is included. It is compatible with M-Lok rails only, which is unfortunate as most of my guns use Picatinny mounting system. I was able to mount it on Picatinny rail using an adapter, but I highly recommend using it on M-Lok rails to achieve the lowest profile and flush mount position. Regarding the operation, the flashlight/laser combo has two switches – one in the rear end for the laser mode and one remote switch for the flashlight on/off and for the strobe mode. Although the switches work well, I could not find a way to lock them to prevent accidental activation, which could be a potential issue. In terms of brightness, the Votatu is much brighter compared to my authentic Streamlight TLR-1 HL, which has a guaranteed output of 1000 lumens. Therefore, I trust the manufacturer’s claim of 1600 lumens output. Green laser is great as well. The strobe mode works perfectly, generating high-frequency super bright light flashes that are guaranteed to blind your opponents. It has a green laser, which is excellent and on-par with the Streamlight’s green laser, so no complaints here. I always preferred a green laser as it’s so much more visible, especially in sunny conditions. The laser on this device is bright and easily adjustable. I cannot comment on how well it holds zero because I haven’t tested it on a range yet, but once I do, I’ll update this review with my results. Note that you can turn on the strobe mode for the laser as well. Some other observations include the proprietary charging cable and connector, which could be problematic if the cable is lost, and the lack of a dust cover on the charging port, which could lead to corrosion. Although the built-in rechargeable battery is nice, I would prefer a replaceable battery to avoid the 2-hour recharge time. Additionally, the absence of a replaceable battery could mean that the entire unit will need to be replaced if the battery fails completely. Bottom line: Overall, I highly recommend the Votatu flashlight as a budget-friendly alternative to more expensive brands, given its decent build quality and useful features, including a rechargeable built-in battery and very low profile. However, the battery is not replaceable, the charging cable is proprietary. So far it works perfectly mounted on my AR, but I had to use an adapter to mount it on Picatinny rail. I give it a rating of between 4 and 5 stars, with a higher leaning towards 5, but my opinion may change over time based on its dependability and performance. Pros: 1. Well-built construction. 2. High 1600 lumens output. 3. Excellent high-frequency strobe mode. 4. Low profile and compact design. 5. Ambidextrous controls. 6. Remote flashlight / laser switch. 7. 1 meter drop resistant. 8. IPX6 water and dust proof. 9. Built-in rechargeable battery. 10. Lightweight, only 153 grams. Cons: 1. Lacks a button lock feature. 2. Uses proprietary charging cable. 3. Charging port is not covered. 4. The battery is non-replaceable. 5. Can not be mounted on Picatinny rails w/o adapter.
